Reaching out to the people in one aspect might seem easy. We are white Americans living in a community that is not accustomed to foreigners so we are a curiosity. But with that title comes fear and many river dwellers do not know how to deal with us because we are so different from them. It has been part of our strategy to work with individuals in our churches to reach into these communities, deep into river delta. The river is not a friendly place but one filled with hazards and pirates (the real thing not like on tv). At the bottom of this post is a video of one of our trips to show how far back we travel to reach these river villages. Pray for us as we take trips to connect with non-believers to bring the Stories of Jesus into their lives.
