A ThanksGiving Story

As it happens every year, Thanksgiving has caught me by surprise, only because there are no Thanksgiving celebrations here in Brazil where I live. It is an American Holiday followed by Black Friday, which is celebrated by the local merchants. How confusing it is to understand why some parts of American culture export well while others do not. Yet there you are visiting your unsaved relatives for the holidays and trying to come up with an easy way to share a bit of the Gospel. Yet the last thing they want to see is your Bible.

I want to suggest a story. Yes, my experience has taught me that a story is suitable for such occasions, especially a short one. Grab your Bible and look up Luke 17:11-19, the story of the Ten Lepers Jesus Healed. Jesus heals ten lepers, but only one returns to thank him. A great Thanksgiving story as we are to be thankful for what God has given us, and it drops a seed that the Holy Spirit can use once the day is over. Try it. It is only a simple story. Drop me a text back as to what you think of my suggestion or offer me a better story.

The Man From Heaven

My desire as an evangelist is to use terms and phrases that offer the best opportunity for people to hear stores about Jesus. The term “The Man from Heaven” is a strategic way to share Jesus’ parables to those who disdain the name of Jesus. It is part of an evangelist outreach strategy to reach those who are lost. Some of the stories featured next week in my podcast are Parable of the Good Samaritan, Parable of the Rich Land Owner, and Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builders. Along with many more parables and sayings. This series is a two-week series. Podcast Lizard Tracks: more info at http://lizardtracks.net.

Remembering Christmas

The glut of Christmas mugs featuring pagan imagery is impressive. Here I like to feature mugs with artwork that celebrates the stories in the Bible, and this Christmas Mug is one that will be a great addition to your personal collection. Consider ordering one today as you prepare for the Christmas season.

  • We will be traveling Dec 3&4 to the States, the Dayton Ohio area. Pray that all of our trunks will make it.
  • The plans are to have a family Christmas celebration on December 14, because we are not able to stay for Christmas, pray that all our kids can come.
  • Ellen will be presenting a Story Program on December 8, entitled “Let The Redeemed of the Lord Tell Their Story.” Pray for her event; it is part of an advance story training program she will complete next month.
